After an eight-day jury trial, Eccleston & Wolf is happy to congratulate attorneys Steve Cornelius and Courtney Watkins on a successful defense verdict. Cornelius and Watkins represented a company in an employment case filed in the Circuit Court for Howard County. The former employee initially pursued claims for discrimination, retaliation and unpaid wages.  After securing summary judgment as to the retaliation claims and a voluntary dismissal of the wage claims, Cornelius and Watkins tried the remaining claims of alleged discrimination on the basis of age and disability, for which the former employee sought more than $2 million in economic damages.  Attorneys Cornelius and Watkins successfully argued that the plaintiff was terminated for legitimate business reasons.
